EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA<\/strong><\/p>\n BRASILIA<\/strong><\/p>\n Press Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n For Immediate Release<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Brasilia-Tuesday, July 02, 2024. <\/strong>The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Brazil is engaged in talks with Sirio-Libanes Hospital, one of the best rated hospitals in South America for possible partnerships.<\/p>\n A team of Mission staff led by Zambia\u2019s Ambassador to Brazil Glynne Michelo conducted a tour of the hospital to appreciate the specialized and advanced medical services the hospital offers with a view of partnership in patient referrals and other services.<\/p>\n Sirio-Libanes Hospital has been in operation for the past 103 years wholly as a philanthropic institution run by a consulate of women Managers and Directors.<\/p>\n Currently, there are two Sirio- Libanes hospitals operating in Brazil with a bed capacity of 574 and 144 bed capacity in Sao Paulo and the capital Brasilia respectively.<\/p>\n The two hospitals also support 70 public hospitals within Brazil offering three advanced major medical care services in Oncology, Neurology and Cardiology.<\/p>\n Other services offered include Emergency, Surgical (including bone marrow transplant), Paediatric Emergency, Outpatient Chemotherapy Treatment, Radiology, Medical Consultation, Diagnostics, Immunizations, Infusion and Rehabilitation.<\/p>\n Sirio-Libanes Hospital International Relations and Corporate Manager Felipe Moura Kanemo indicated that the hospital has an agenda of creating new international partnerships and is looking forward to a productive collaboration with the Zambian Government.<\/p>\n Mr. Kanemo said once the hospital and the Embassy reaches a bilateral agreement, Zambia will have an opportunity to benefit from several services the institution offers which include webinars, consulting services, professional exchange and internship of medical personnel (advanced care exchange programmes), education and research, training of medical professionals, and robotic surgery.<\/p>\n \u201cAs Sirio Libanes Hospital we are not only interested in receiving international patients but we have interest in developing strong partnerships in education and research so that we grow together with our partners.
