\"\"PRESS STATEMENT <\/strong>EMBASSIES OF ZAMBIA AND TANZANIA PLAN TO HOST JOINT ECONOMIC, TRADE, TOURISM AND INVESTMENT FORUMS IN BRAZIL<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brasilia.<\/strong>The Embassies of Zambia and Tanzania to the Federative Republic of Brazil are planning on hosting joint economic, trade tourism and investment forums in Brazil to showcase the opportunities that are in the two countries.<\/p>\n

Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Brazil Glyne Michelo says there is a lot that Zambia and Tanzania are able to achieve by working together.<\/p>\n

Mr. Michelo was speaking when he paid a courtesy on the Professor Adelardus Lubango Kilangi Ambassador of United Republic of Tanzania to Brazil in Brasilia.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Michelo indicated that through joint investment forums Zambia and Tanzania can encourage the Brazilian business community to participate in the two countries\u2019 premier trade fairs.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur two countries enjoy cordial bilateral relations both politically and economically, we share a long history of working together from the days of Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Julius Mwalimu Nyerere so much that we are bound to work together wherever we are to advance that spirit of unity and togetherness.\u201d Mr. Michelo said.<\/p>\n

He added that the recent state visit by President Samia Suluhu Hassan<\/a> to Zambia which culminated in the signing of eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) documents is an affirmation of deepening cooperation between the two countries in different sectors which include energy, transport, defense and health.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Prof Kilangi expressed delight at Zambia\u2019s desire to work with Tanzania in advancing trade, tourism and investment between Brazil and the two countries.<\/p>\n

Prof. Kilangi said the Southern African Development Community SADC in Brazil is very active and it must spearhead trade and investment in the Southern Africa region and Zambia and Tanzania can take a lead with the initial investment forum.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs SADC countries we must collaborate more to advance our trade and economic interest. Prof Kilangi said. It is important that we use the spirit of unity that was used by our forefathers during the liberation struggle to push for positive economic transformation in Zambia and Tanzania.<\/p>\n

He added that Zambia and Tanzania working together will greatly minimize on cost and the difficulties individual embassies face when organising such activities.<\/p>\n
