25\/11\/25 – The Permanent Mission of Zambia co-hosted the Geneva Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance alongside the Permanent Missions of China and Pakistan. This event stemmed from the inaugural meeting co-hosted by China and Zambia for the Group of Friends for International Cooperation on AI Capacity-building in 2024 in New York.<\/p>\n
The Dialogue provided a platform for Geneva\u2019s diplomatic community to exchange views, share experiences, and explore pathways for AI governance\u2014advancing the goal of AI for the common good of all humankind. The Dialogue forms part of preparatory discussions leading up to the UN Dialogue on AI Governance that is scheduled to be held in July 2026 in Geneva.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Luambia recalled Zambia\u2019s long-standing partnership with China in the sphere of AI and digital technologies. She outlined Zambia\u2019s national efforts to maximise utilisation of AI for development, including operationalising the AI Strategy, investing in human capital and investing in digital infrastructure.
