Zambia Misison in Geneva

23/03/2026 – Zambia is scheduled to participate in the 14th World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference, which will take place from 26th to 29th March, 2026 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The WTO Ministerial Conference, held biennially, brings together Ministers responsible for trade from WTO Member States to deliberate on key issues and rules affecting the global trading system.

This year’s Conference will focus mainly on the reform of the WTO, with Members seeking to ensure that the Organization evolves in response to changing global economic dynamics and rapid technological advancements. Discussions will also cover a range of priority areas, including agricultural reform, development and Least Developed Country (LDC) graduation, investment facilitation for development, and electronic commerce.

Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, M.P., Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry will be represented by Mrs. Lillian Bwalya, Permanent Secretary for Trade at the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry. The delegation will comprise officials from the Permanent Mission of Zambia in Geneva, Switzerland, as well as representatives from relevant line Ministries and Agencies.
