Operating under the New Dawn Government and guided by the vision and priorities of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema, the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Luanda, together with our Consulate General in Luena, Moxico Province, exists to protect, promote, and project Zambia’s national interests in the Republic of Angola.
Zambia and Angola are close neighbours and long-standing partners. Our two countries share a common border, deep historical ties, and communities linked by shared languages, cultures, and lived experiences. These connections provide a strong foundation for cooperation, mutual respect, and shared development.
Both Governments are committed to deepening bilateral relations, expanding trade and investment, and promoting regional integration. In support of these goals, the Mission is actively engaged in advancing several priority initiatives, including:
- The Lobito Corridor, which will enhance regional connectivity and provide Zambia with a shorter and more efficient route to the Atlantic Ocean for exports and imports;
- Cross-border road infrastructure projects linking Zambia and Angola through Jimbe, Chavuma, and Sikongo, aimed at facilitating trade and movement of people;
- Energy cooperation, including power interconnection and collaboration in the energy sector;
- Trade and investment promotion, particularly in agriculture, agro-processing, mining value addition, manufacturing, and logistics;
- Health and education cooperation, including the deployment of Zambian health professionals to Angola and the promotion of Zambia as a regional education hub;
- Cultural and traditional diplomacy, reflecting the many communities and languages shared across the Zambia–Angola border.
The Embassy also provides consular services to Zambian citizens in Angola and works closely with Angolan authorities, the private sector, and development partners to facilitate travel, business, and investment opportunities. We encourage Zambians, Angolans, and friends of both countries to engage with the Mission as we work to unlock shared opportunities and prosperity.
