JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Cabinet Office Permanent Secretary for Policy Analysis and Coordination, Mr. Bernard Kamphasa, and Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary for Investment and Industrialisation, Mr. Crusivia Hichikumba, participated in a regional training programme on Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) held in Johannesburg..
The three-day programme, organised by the Copenhagen Consensus Center, brought together more than 140 senior government officials, policy advisers and analysts from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
The training focused on strengthening evidence-based policymaking by equipping participants with practical skills in cost-benefit analysis.
Through case studies, policy exercises and AI-supported learning, officials explored approaches to evaluating public investments and setting policy priorities.
The programme also provided an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences and discuss ways of improving public sector decision-making to ensure limited resources are directed towards programmes that deliver the greatest benefit to citizens.
