Zambia Misison in pretoria

The Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) hosted a high-level regional trade engagement titled “Trading with Neighbouring Countries and Zambia” at FNB Fairlands in Johannesburg in August 2026. Zambia used the meeting to present investment opportunities and explain recent economic developments to South African business leaders.
The Zambia High Commission in Pretoria was represented by First Secretary for Trade and Economics, Mwami Mainga, who delivered one of the headline presentations at the event.
Mr. Mainga outlined investment opportunities in various sectors of the Zambian economy and encouraged South African businesses to consider Zambia as a destination for investment and regional expansion.
Zambia also featured prominently in discussions on economic developments in the region, particularly the country’s recent debt restructuring.
Participants considered what the development means for Zambia’s economic outlook, investor confidence and its ability to attract capital into productive sectors.
The engagement was attended by JCCI President Caren Sutherns and representatives of the South African business community.
The discussions focused on trade with neighbouring countries, including Zambia, and the need for stronger links between businesses operating across Southern Africa.
The meeting provided another opportunity for Zambia to present its economic position directly to the South African business community and to strengthen the contacts needed to support greater trade, investment and cooperation between the two countries.
