PUBLIC NOTICE
ZAMBIA’S 62ND INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION IN CANADA
Theme: “Zambia @ 62: Our Journey, Our Growth, Our Future”
Dear Members of the Zambian Community,
Warm greetings from the High Commission of the Republic of Zambia in Ottawa.
The High Commission regrets to inform the Zambian community across Canada that, owing to circumstances beyond its control, the Mission will not host a reception to commemorate Zambia’s 62nd Independence Anniversary this year.
To mark this important occasion, the Zambian National Flag will be raised and flown at full mast at Ottawa City Hall on 24th October 2026, in honour of Zambia’s Independence Day.
The Mission encourages Zambians across Canada to support and actively participate in Independence Day celebrations organised by diaspora associations and community groups in their respective provinces and regions. These gatherings provide an opportunity to strengthen community ties, celebrate our shared heritage, and reaffirm the unity and patriotism that bind us.
As we commemorate 62 years of independence, the High Commission extends its warmest wishes to all Zambians and friends of Zambia across Canada and Countries of extra accreditation.
Happy 62nd Independence Anniversary!
One Zambia, One Nation.
High Commission of the Republic of Zambia
