Visa Application

CONSULAR SERVICES 

  1. PASSPORT APPLICATIONS FOR ZAMBIANS IN UNITED ARAB EMIRATES AND SURROUNDING JURISDICTIONS OF ACCREDITATION

Process 

  • Fill in forms provided at the Consulate;
  • Forms are checked and submitted with the Consulate;
  • Consulate facilitates submission to Home office in Lusaka, Zambia;
  • Collection of passports after one (1) month from Consulate;
  • Complete form L and General Affidavit in case of lost passport
  • Fee, USD80 (eighty United States dollars) and USD20 (twenty United States dollars) penalty in case of lost passport 

 

  1. ISSUANCE OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS OF IDENTITY

The Consulate issues one-way Travel Documents of Identity to Zambians who may have lost their Passports to enable them travel back home. 

  • Fill in forms provided at the Consulate;
  • Complete form L and General Affidavit in case of lost passport; and
  • Fee, USD25 (twenty-five United States dollars) for issuance of TDI and USD20 (twenty United States dollars), penalty for lost document.

 

  1. AUTHENTICATION OF ZAMBIAN DOCUMENTS

Process 

  • All documents must first be authenticated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Zambia in Lusaka;
  • Authenticated documents are then submitted to the Consulate for co-authentication;
  • Collection of documents after one (1) day from Consular office.

 

  1. GUIDANCE ON VISA POLICY FOR ZAMBIANS INTENDING TO TRAVEL TO UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

The Consulate provides further guidance on visa policies in addition to requirements listed by Emirates Airlines and travel agencies. 

Current requirements for a Tourist Visa are: 

  • Accommodation booking; and
  • Return ticket.

 

  1. GUIDANCE ON VISA POLICY FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS INTENDING TO TRAVEL TO ZAMBIA

As guided by the Immigration Department of the Republic of Zambia, the Consulate provides information to foreign nationals intending to travel to Zambia. 

Foreign nationals can apply for the Zambian visa online at e-Services 

 

  1. REPATRIATION OF HUMAN REMAINS

The Consulate facilitates the repatriation of Human remains back to Zambia by providing technical support. 

List of Documents required by law for repatriation of remains to Zambia: 

  • Certified copy of death certificate;
  • Embalming certificate;
  • Non-infectious disease certificate;
  • Passport of the deceased (it must be cancelled by the Embassy);
  • Affidavit by the local funeral director/funeral directors declaration (funeral parlour);
  • Authorisation letter from Ministry of Health; and
  • Authorisation letter from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Zambia.

 

  1. REGISTRATION OF ZAMBIAN NATIONALS IN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

A very important function of the Consulate is to ensure that all Zambians within the United Arab Emirates are registered. This is done in order to contribute up to date information about the diaspora to reflect correctly in national policy statistics and programmes, and also promote good citizen welfare.

Completing Application forms:

It is vital for all visa applicants to answer all questions on the visa application form and provide the necessary documentation.

Note: The mission is not obligated to inform the applicant if any of the requirements are not met. However, incomplete application packages will be placed in the pending box or returned to the applicant.

Before sending your application:

  • Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended stay in Zambia.
  • The passport must have a minimum of 2 blank pages.

Application forms must be completed in full and submitted along with the following:

  • Original passport
  • Photocopy of passport page containing personal details;
  • Two recent passport size photographs;
  • Return Air ticket or Confirmed ticket booking or itinerary.
