ZANIS Onboarding onto DStv Platform

Ministry of Information Permanent Secretary, Mr Thabo Kawana, has led a delegation to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, he signed a landmark contract on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Zambia with MultiChoice Africa for the onboarding of the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) TV as a channel on DStv.

The agreement marks the first time ZANIS will be broadcast on the DStv platform, significantly expanding its reach beyond Zambia’s borders. This development is expected to enhance the visibility of Zambian news, perspectives, and content across the African continent and potentially to audiences beyond.

In addition to increased reach, the partnership is anticipated to contribute to improved production standards and strengthened institutional capacity at ZANIS, supporting its mandate to deliver timely, credible, and high-quality information services.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Zambia in Dubai was present to support the Permanent Secretary and his delegation during the mission, reaffirming Zambia’s commitment to strategic international partnerships that advance national communication and media objectives.
